HTC One V and Sony Xperia U are the two new smartphones with many similarities in terms of features and price. Both the smartphone announce in the month of February 2012. HTC One V has  single core processor and runs on latest Android OS 4.0 and Sony Xperia U has  dual core processor and runs on Android Gingerbread OS. Choosing the best among HTC One V or Sony Xperia U is depends on the requirements of each person. Here is quick Specification comparison between the two.

Comparison of HTC One V Vs Sony Xperia U:
Operating System:

  • HTC One V: Android  4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • Sony Xperia U: Android 2.3(Gingerbread)

HTC One V comes loaded with latest Android OS 4.0. Which is great move from HTC where there technically very few mid range smartphones comes bundled with Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Sony Xperia U comes pre loaded with Android Gingerbread OS and expected to get ICS update soon. It is little surprising that, even though Xperia has Dual core processor and still running on Gingerbread OS. Here i prefer HTC One V as it has latest OS compared to Xperia U.
Processor and RAM:

  • HTC One V:Single core 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM
  • Sony Xperia U: Dual core 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM
Here Sony Xperia U get clear edge as it has one extra core compared to HTC One V. It will be faster and lag free in terms on performance. Both the smartphone have similar amount of RAM. HTC One V has Adreno 205 GPU and Xperia U has Mali 400MP GPU.
Display:
  • HTC One V: 3.7 inch Capacitive touch screen with 480*800 pixel resolution(~252 ppi pixel density);HTC Sense UI v4.0 
  • Sony Xperia U: 3.5inch LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen with 480*854 pixel resolution(~280ppi pixel density);Timescape UI
HTC One V has larger screen size but Sony Xperia U gives higher screen resolution with higher pixel density. Sony Xperia U display screen comes with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine which makes the screen much crisp and bright. 
Camera:
  • HTC One V: 5MP rear camera and no Front facing camera
  • Sony Xperia U:5Mp rear camera and VGA front camera.
HTC One V has  5MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. The camera is capable of recording videos at 720 p and has useful features such Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection. 
Sony Xperia U has 5MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. It supports recording videos at 720p and has features such as Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, 3D sweep panorama, image stabilization. Xperia U scores more here because it has additional VGA camera which HTC One V doesn't.
Storage
  • HTC  One V: 4GB inbuilt memory and expandable memory upto 32GB through microSD card
  • Sony Xperia U: 8GB internal memory
HTC One V has 4GB internal memory and it also supports memory expansion through microSD card. Xperia U has 8GB internal memory but do not supports memory expansion. I will be going with HTC One V here.
Price:
  • HTC One V: ₹17,435
  • Sony Xperia U:₹16,499
Sony Xperia U is much affordable than HTC One V even though it is dual core processor.

Sony Xperia S is a new flagship model from Sony Xperia series.  It has dual core processor and a very good display with higher screen resolution. Samsung Galaxy Note is a big screen smartphone which can also fulfills the requirements of a tablet. It has some unique features such as powerful 2500 mAh battery, S memo for personalizing communication with multimedia, S Planner, S Choice special apps for S Pen  Here is a quick specification wise comparison between Samsung Galaxy Note and Sony Xperia S. Samsung Galaxy Note: 8 MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and 2MP Front camera
Sony Xperia S has better rear camera with 12 mega pixel  when compared to Galaxy Note 8MP Camera. However Galaxy Note has edge in front camera as it has 2MP front facing camera.
